WACS: User Guide

Contents

Introduction

Welcome to WACS, a free-software adult web site system designed to store a personal collection. This web document is designed to show you around the key parts of the WACS web site you're using. Depending on where you're accessing from, and what the person installing the system told it to do, you may well have to log in first.
[Front Page]
For copyright/licensing reasons, the example images feature sets from two photoshoots by the main author and a friend of his. These sets have not been publicly released at this time, but feel free to contact Beaky about them.

Logging In

[Login Screen 1] WACS is designed to house content that isn't suitable for everyone to see, so there's a login procedure to *try* to make sure that only those people who should see it get to. We've tried to provide the necessary security tools and make them work right, but don't blame us if someone in your household gets to see something they shouldn't - it's your content not ours, after all! If you're nervous about it, do take the time to read the sections on security and Configuration. Do also remember that protecting the Wacs system is no use if people can easily look at the disc files where the content is stored, and that the front page and documentation will give some clues as to the nature of the material it contains.

You can choose to login from the main menu page, or alternatively you will be asked to login whenever you try to first try access a page with actual content on it.

[Login Screen 2] There are two steps to logging in - firstly providing your username and password, and secondly agreeing to the declaration and setting your exclusions for the session (if you want to). Exclusions is as far as we know an exclusive feature to WACS; it allows you to tell the system to hide certain types of content from indexes. For example, if you only wish to see each girl on her own, you can tick the boxes to exclude straight, group orgy and lesbian sets from display. Most of the pages will include a note to the effect that some sets have been excluded and a way to override that and see all sets.

The Wacs Front Page

[Main Index] When you log into wacs you will be automatically taken back to what you first asked for that required authentication. What this is completely depends on how you got there, but it's likely to be either the main menu or the front page. If it's the main menu, that's boring, so just click on the link to the front page (which is cool!).

The front page itself gives you loads of options and information - on the left hand sidebar you have a selection of the latest updates and an index of your saved searches (if you have any). The main part of the page has a random featured model, a selection of her sets and videos and links to other similar models. Want to roll again? Just hit your browser's refresh button....

As you'll see, the front page has a menu bar right across the top which gives you direct access to (most of) the rest of the system. We'll look at some of the things you can get to from there next...

Where's The New Stuff

The first place most people like to check on entering a new website is the latest additions, and of course WACS provides this. There are three special pages covering new additions; one each for Models, Photo Sets and Video Clips.

[New Models] Here's the one for models, but do note that due to the way WACS works, there might not yet be any sets in place yet for these models. A model has to be added first before she can be associated with a set; her sets may well still be on the downloading "To Do" list.

[New Sets] This is probably the most used of the new pages, as this covers the newly added photosets. It includes set attributes, viewing links and links to the model(s) featured.

Note the various little icons that give you a clue as to some of the things featured in this set - the razor and brush signifies that the model has a shaven pussy; the nipple ring icon indicates the model has a pierced nipple, and the little yellow vibrator icon indicates dildo use in this set. There are about thirty different icons which can be attributed to a set and it's possible to search for any particular combination of them using the image and video search pages.

[New Videos] This one covers the newly added videos, providing links, information and their icons. As well as the icons, you see information on the general type of the video, where it came from and links to the model pages for the models featured in it. Where it's a lesbian or group orgy movie (or set), all known models will be listed alphabetically.

Looking At Images And Videos

[Set Page - Images] When you find a set you want to look at you have the option to download it or see it as a slide show, or if you're not quite sure about it, you can glance through a set of thumbnails of the images inside it. This is what the set index page allows you to do - it's usually linked to on the set name links of any image set.

[Set Index - Images] This is a slightly different version of the same screen which isn't as pretty but does include all the images (instead of the first 16 or so) and some additional information about it, including where it is actually located in the file systems. This is more of a site owner's page really - it is linked to from the set number link on the detailed model page, new sets page or index link at the bottom right hand corner of the model thumbs page.
[Set Index - Video] While Wacs can't do exactly the same (yet) for videos, it can produce the icons, size information and specifications for the video clip. Here's what looking at the set index for a set that contains a video looks like.

Browsing For Stuff

So the next step is browsing through the site, and this is where the Main Sections menus come into play. These shows you the main sections into which the WACS-hosted site has been divided, typically with options to browse with pictures or just use the short-form index by name. Normally there will be two distinct sections, the General sections and the Vendor sections - both work in the same way.

[WacsShow] If you choose the browser, you get a divider for each sub-section and a selection at random from either sets or models featured within that section. Hitting reload on the web browser will cause a new group of pictures to be selected at random (so long as there are enough different ones available). You can click on each icon to see that set, or you can click on the title bar to see everything in that sub-section.

[WacsImgCat] The index is rather more consise but shows you a good view of all that is available within that section. In many cases, it can be the quickest way to find a particular type of set. Normally you can see many hundreds of models/categories in a single page.

About Models

[Model Menu] It's in this section that WACS is really different from most of the other image management systems out there. It has literally dozens of different ways to look at the details on the different models it knows about.

[Model Menu 2] This shows you just some of the many choices available; you can look at those models marked as favourites in each of four categories (Solo, Cuties, Lesbian and Straight), by vendor site and then all, best or unrated from each of those, alphabetically by name and so on. Within each of these you can look at either a page of thumbnail images (shown below), or a detailed description of each model (further down).

[Fave Thumbs] As mentioned earlier, we're a bit limited by licensing/copyright rules but here are a few examples of how the pages look - here's a sample favourites thumbnails page. The various pop-down menus allow you to select the detailed version instead, or one of the other favourites sets, or other navigation options.

[Fave Details] This is the more detailed model index which shows you much more detail about each model. This gives you a lot more detail about each model including her identities on various web sites, biographical information, and statistics.

Model Details

[Model Page] From any of the above indexes, when you click on a model, you get to one of three different set pages about each model. Here's an example of the detailed one; this page includes most of the information about each set and details of this model's identity on various web sites, sets yet to be downloaded or those not yet added into the WACS database.

Along the top of this page you get a number of pull down menus; the first of these is Alternatives (shown above) which allows you to select the other ways of seeing this model's page, either less detailed or more detailed depending on where you are. The second menu Photographers allows you to select the work of just one specific photographer with this model. The third Liasons selects her Lesbian liasons (if any) with other models, showing you how many times each combination of girls have appeared together. The fourth Locations, illustrated below, shows the location in which the set was taken; the lounge, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and so on. The fifth and final pull down menu Navigation gives useful links to elsewhere in the Wacs system. [Model Page w/Locations]

[Model Thumbs] This page contains thumbnails of the sets that this model has and is a much better way of browsing through her collection. Note that there is one more such screen for especially prolific models where the thumbnails are much smaller in order to fit many more to a view.

Indices, Indices, Indices

[Photographer List] In addition to the various graphical sections, there are also a number of more compact indices to help you find things quickly. There are four: Image Sets, Video Clips, Alphabetic Model index and Photographer Index. Of these, the photographer index is the most unique. It lets you look through the sets for work by a specific photographer, where of course that information is available.

How To Search

[Set Search] This is the first of three search screens available, this one does a by attribute search of the sets available within WACS. Of course, the success of any such search depends on the attributes being filled out for each set, but the recommended naming convention goes a long way towards making this work well. The results of a search are saved in a saved search which you can then examine, edit and view. An almost identical screen is used for searching videos.

[Model Search] In addition to searching for sets by attributes, you can do the same for models using the model search screen. It's shown here, and once again it creates a saved searches which you can then examine and edit at your leisure.

[Saved Searches] This screen lets you look at the saved searches; normally this will include your own previously performed searches plus any that have been made public. (A facility for making your own searches public, should you wish to, will be added in a later release.)
